Upon venturing out into the city I couldn’t help but notice the amount of people on their cell phones. People were walking on the sidewalk unaware of their surroundings and even people doing something as dangerous as crossing the street while entranced on their phones. Even in Central Park people would rather be on their phones then enjoy the beautiful scenery that surrounds them. I watched as they walked with their headphones in tuning out the world while also texting and walking their dogs. It amazes me how much our ever-expanding technological world has influenced people in their daily lives. People are disconnected from the world unconscious of what is going on around them. I watched as mothers, teens, and even older people sat and gave their phones their undivided attention. Even people within different eating establishments were on the their phones rather than enjoying their food or the company of the person next to them. It is obvious that technology has influenced society in a huge way. Everywhere you turn there is some sort of technological device near you. Technology is constantly being advertised such as the upcoming arrival of the iPhone XS Max apples newest and biggest iPhone. Unfortunately because of things like this many people have become dissociated with the world around them.
